Customer Service Hours Extended
NursingCAS customer service hours for applicants have been extended until 7:00 PM Eastern Time (6:00 PM Central, 5:00 PM Mountain, and 4:00 PM Pacific), Monday – Thursday. Friday hours remain 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
A new phone system was implemented that helps NursingCAS to listen, monitor, and track calls by each representative in order to improve service.
If you have an applicant who has a customer service complaint, please get as much detail as you can from the applicant, specifically what date and time they called, the name of representative they communicated with, and the particular issue, and email Tania immediately so we can address any concerns quickly.
NursingCAS is on Twitter
NursingCAS is now on Twitter. Applicants can follow NursingCAS and "tweet" questions, and customer service will reply with answers. Encourage your applicants to follow NursingCAS on Twitter.

Encourage applicants to like NursingCAS on Facebook for important news, updates, and information. Applicants can post questions on the Facebook wall for customer service to answer.
Encourage applicants to visit or subscribe to the NursingCAS YouTube channel to watch helpful, instructional videos on the application process.

Reminder: 3-Day Maintenance Scheduled for August 7 – 9
The next cycle of NursingCAS, Cycle 3 (2012 – 2013), will launch on August 10, 2012. There will be a 3-day maintenance period where the application will be down from August 7–9, 2012 to allow for important enhancements. It’s important to note that you will log into the same WebAdMIT portal with your same username and password in order to access applicants who applied prior to August 7, 2012 and applicants who apply on, or after August 10, 2012. The most up-to-date data dictionary will be available in your WebAdMIT portal under Usage Help> Support Resources> Custom Export Field Layout. Applicants who were in the system prior to August 7, will remain in the system when the new cycle opens on August 10. Applicants will be able to log into their application with their same username and password. Please review the FAQs on the scheduled maintenance and/or contact Caroline Allen, NursingCAS Manager, at callen@aacn.nche.edu or 202-463-6930 x258 with any questions.

NursingCAS Listserv Launching on August 1
In order to facilitate communication, collaboration, and sharing of best practices among participating schools, a NursingCAS Listserv has been established. This platform will serve as an electronic discussion group for NursingCAS users. Everyone who has a WebAdMIT account or receives this newsletter has been added to the listserv. To convey a message to the listserv, send an email to nursingcas@lists.aacn.nche.edu. All of the other list members will automatically receive a copy of the message. By selecting the reply option, a message will be delivered to the entire listserv.
Note, if you would like to send a message directly to only the individual who sent the message then when you hit reply delete nursingcas@lists.aacn.nche.edu from the “To” line and copy and paste in the individual’s email address, otherwise your message will be sent to the entire listserv.
Submissions to the listserv do not need to be approved, but to maintain focus we ask that users limit messages to NursingCAS, WebAdMIT, admissions, student services, application, and enrollment management related topics. Please note that all listserv members by default are set up to receive all  messages as they are sent. If you prefer to receive a daily digest of messages in one email please send an email to nursingcas@aacn.nche.edu with the subject line "digest listserv".
A welcome email from the listserv will be sent on August 1, 2012. If you do not get a Welcome email from the NursingCAS Listserv you can request that you or any of your colleagues be added to the distribution list by sending an email to nursingcas@aacn.nche.edu with the subject line “Add Email to Listserv”. If you have any questions about the Listserv please contact Caroline at callen@aacn.nche.edu or 202-463-6930 x258.
Personal Statement Update
Many schools were having issues with applicants forgetting to attach their personal statement to their designation. So development put in place red, italicized help text that indicates whether or not an applicant has attached a statement to a specific designation. In the screenshot below you can see that a statement is not attached or matched to Georgetown University but there is a statement attached to George Washington University.
End-of-Cycle Reports Available in Your WebAdMIT Portal
Cycle 2 (2011 – 2012) of NursingCAS ends on August 6, 2012 and you can run your end-of-cycle reports prior to August 10, 2012 when the new cycle of NursingCAS starts. You have the ability to run reports against applicants (where each applicant is reported separately) or applications (where each designation for each applicant is reported separately), and the ability to limit the results of any comparative report to applicants in a particular decision code. When limiting a comparative report by decision code, the report will include data only for applicants in that decision code. Please note that reporting decision codes is optional. Since not all programs enter decision codes, reports filtered by decision code may not include data from all participating programs.
