Hello ,
In exactly 43 days it will be the day of the big departure. We already have 109 teams registered for Oxfam Peacewalker 2018 and this figure is constantly rising. A big thank you to everyone ! Enclosed is some practical information to help with the smooth running of this event.
Where can you sleep during Oxfam Peacewalker 2018?
Unfortunately Peace Village is already booked out. It will be possible to install your tent on a big site near to Peace Village. Sanitary facilities will be laid on. To reserve a place for your tent, register here. Other accommodation possibilities exist in the Westhoek region, including a good choice of holiday houses and bed and breakfasts. For more information, visit this site.
Feeling a little peckish?
On the evening before the event (Friday), a burger (meat and vegetarian) feast with accompaniments will be proposed. This will be an opportunity for the supporters and the walkers to dine together at a cost of 7,5 euro per person. Order in time ! To order, it is obligatory that you register here.
Meet up with supporters at CPs and WP
During Oxfam Peacewalker, supporters will be able to go to the two Checkpoints (CPs) and the one Waterpoint (WP) to show their support for their teams. Beware however that access to 3WP De Lork (Kemmel) is prohibited to cars! We advise supporters either to use one of our bikes or take the Oxfam shuttle bus (shuttle is free and a bike-reservation costs 15€ per day).
Please reserve your bike here.
Supporters using the bikes will get two tickets for food/drink worth a total of 3 euros and can avail of snacks and drinks at the CPs and WPS. They will also be entered into a free draw: prize: a weekend for 4 in Peace Village. To thank the fans who use the shuttle, we offer them 2 consumption tickets (a total value of € 3).
Walk along with your supporters ?
Yes, this will be possible ! Your supporters, your family and your friends may accompany you on the section between 3WP De Lork and the finishing line (9,6 km).
A good idea would be: take the shuttle to Kemmel and do the return journey by foot.
