20-Year-Old Singer/Songwriter Katie Overbey

Explodes With Debut Single “Liars”

(September 25, 2026): Katie Overbey, a native of Los Angeles now residing in Denver, is making big noise with her band, The Backlash.

Katie’s first release, “Liars,” premiered on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country radio on September 11 and immediately went into regular rotation. Written and performed entirely by Overbey (except for the drums), “Liars” is available now via all streaming platforms.

To celebrate the release, Katie and her band The Backlash crossed the state line to New Mexico for a September 19 interview with the KRQE-TV 13 morning show in Albuquerque, followed by a raging set at the New Mexico State Fair supporting The Warning.

Katie, a Gibson Guitar sponsored artist, as well as a classically trained violinist, gained early notoriety playing the main stage at the Las Vegas Punk Rock Bowling Festival in 2024 alongside veterans such as Devo, Descendents, and Billy Bragg.

She was recently called “Bluegrass Punk”—somewhat fitting, but Katie’s music is very sophisticated in its writing and playing. Katie grew up in the world of classical violin, starting at 8-years-old and performing at Carnegie Hall at age 17.

Tune in and be on the lookout for new music from Katie Overbey and her band The Backlash later this year!
