If I could steal a few more hours from somewhere each day, week or even month, I would write a blog about the incredible ups and downs of working to keep a music career going WHILE beginning the career of parenthood. Each day these paths are my greatest challenge, and greatest joy.
In This Letter:

Here's the truth: there is not time to do everything I want to do. But, we must celebrate the things that do happen. And so, I am over the moon, beyond thrilled, so excited I can't tell you, to announce the release of our first official music video: "The Summer You Were Born"
, from the new EP, "Life Happens." It was made by Seattle filmmaker, Nick Tobin, and we filmed it in Seattle, during our Onesie Tour in June. You can see it here, and perhaps this says it all: http://www.amandawestmusic.com/index.html
I want you to know that this video is infinitely personal and memorable for me. It was filmed the day before my babe's first birthday, and in it we inadvertently captured his first tottering steps...
Touring with a one year old was definitely more challenging than touring without a baby. But we did it! And he listened, harmonized and napped on our backs through every show we played. So... we're doing a little more. THIS weekend we embark on a mini "Onesie-Tour Part 2."
We'll be down in the SLO area, playing a few events including Steve Key's Songwriter's Showcase (Sunday afternoon in Paso Robles
), as well as Sonnie Brown's "Songtown" show on KCBX Radio in San Luis Obispo. For those of you not in the area, you can listen in to our live radio show
- 3pm on Saturday
A few more local things coming up in the fall, so keep your eye on the calendar and/or "like" Amanda West Music on facebook
if you haven't already (and while I have mixed feelings about facebook, booking agents love those likes!)
We are now taking mail orders for the "Life Happens" EP. I am afraid it is NOT yet up online... that is still coming! But if you can't wait any longer, and can't make it to any of our shows, send a check for $10 to Amanda West Music, PO Box 7345, Santa Cruz, CA 95061, and we'll get you a copy ASAP!
Thank you deeply and profoundly to all of you who've joined this mailing list and our musical community. We are grateful to you for being open to receiving what it is we have to give, and for all your support and belief in us.
