Summer Jewellery Trends 2026: Natural Beauty Takes Centre Stage

See the online newsletter for pictures. This summer, jewellery trends are all about colour, texture, and natural beauty. Semi-precious beads like amazonite, rose quartz, labradorite, and agate are favourites – helping jewellery makers create characterful designs. Coastal-inspired designs are especially popular: shells, pearls, and ocean-toned beads. Soft blues, sea greens, sandy neutrals, and coral shades capture the relaxed spirit of summer.

Layering continues to dominate. With gemstone strings, delicate chains, and mixed textures worn together for a personalised look. Natural materials like wood, shell, and stone add an organic, bohemian feel.

Statement beads are making a comeback. With irregular shapes and natural finishes preferred. Customers are seeking jewellery that celebrates the unique beauty of natural gemstones. From elegant gemstone designs to colourful beach-inspired creations, this summer’s trends offer endless inspiration for all jewellery makers.

Layered Jewellery Is Back in Fashion

Layered jewellery is making a strong comeback this season. Chanel, Zimmermann, Saint Laurent and Celine are showing layered necklaces, earrings and bracelets on Summer 2026 runways. Jewellery makers are embracing the relaxed, individual style. Combining multiple necklaces, bracelets, or anklets allows wearers to express their personality – while creating a look that feels both elegant and effortless.

Semi-precious gemstone beads are at the heart of this trend. Stones like amazonite, rose quartz, labradorite, amethyst, and agate are being used to add colour, texture, and natural beauty to layered designs. Mixing different bead sizes, shapes, and tones creates depth and interest, making every piece unique. The appeal of layered jewellery lies in its versatility. Delicate gemstone strands can be worn together for a sophisticated look. While bolder combinations create a more contemporary statement. Whether paired with summer dresses, casual outfits, or evening wear – layered semi-precious jewellery adds a touch of individuality and timeless style.

Bead Fair Reports

London Luton Bead Fair
Luton is usually very busy with many visitors from North London – but this time it was quiet. Especially after 2pm. Maybe the 29 degrees heat was the problem? One of the hottest days of the year. However, we’ll be back in Luton on Sunday 4th October, see at London Luton Bead Fair.

Worcester Bead Fair
Worcester was booming! We were very busy from start right up until 4pm close. Many visitors from Birmingham and all over – our best Worcester yet. We'll be back in 2027.

Cambridge Bead Fair
Cambridge was busy – but not as busy as usual. However, we done well from ‘serious beaders’ buying well. We’ll be back at on Sunday 18th October. Details at Cambridge Bead Fair.

Why Dreaming of Beads Might Help You Sleep on a Hot Night

When the summer heat turns your bedroom into a tropical sauna and your pillow feels like a warm brick – there’s only one thing to do: stop counting sheep and start counting beads! Scientists may not have officially proved it (yet!), but bead lovers everywhere know that dreaming of beautiful beads is far more relaxing than worrying about the weather. Imagine drifting off into a cool, peaceful world where sparkling crystals, colourful gemstones and shiny glass beads gently float around you.

Instead of tossing and turning, you could be designing your dream necklace. Choosing the perfect bracelet colours, or discovering a treasure chest full of beautiful beads. Much better than dreaming about a broken fan or a melting ice cream! So, on those hot summer nights, forget the heat and let your imagination cool you down. Close your eyes, think of beads, and enjoy a restful night filled with colourful dreams.

Sweet dreams… and may your bead dreams be beautiful!

MrBead Song

A friend in Hong Kong just made this brilliant song about me! Listen carefully to the lyrics – portrays me going to bead fairs, living in Norfolk and Hong Kong. Hear at: https://suno.com/s/mNIMXheAfp3nztjc

Enjoy a Bead Fair Soon

Bead shows are great fun. You’ll love them! Bring a trolley, as beads get heavy. Take some cash, as a few venues have a weak signal for card payments. Talk to the vendors and other visitors to inspire new design ideas. Make a note of what you paid for beads, and keep exhibitors’ business cards and leaflets.
