After what feels like a very short Summer, Martyn is preparing to head out on the road again with a busy weekend of shows and Festivals, before packing his bag to returrn to the West Coast of the USA for more of the same over the next couple of weeks.
Shrewsbury Folk Festival live video stream
The good people at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival will this year be streaming all their mainstage concerts live in widescreen HD over the internet...which means that Martyn's performance on Saturday evening will be available for eveyone to watch online.
Martyn and Stewart Henderson - Because We Can to tour Western Canada in October
As I type this we are receiving confirmation that Martyn and Stewart will be returning to Canada in October to tour their Because We Can show across the west, from Vancouver Island to Calgary and Saskatoon. After a great little tour in May 2010 of Ontario, the duo will again be teaming up with World Vision Canada to highlight their child sponsorship scheme. Expect shows of music and poetry with a touch of insanity thrown in for good measure!
Dates will run from 11th to 22nd October and full details will be on the website tour dates page in the next few days.
Older MJ albums to be available on iTunes and Amazon MP3 store
Due to public demand we have decided to make many of Martyn's older albums available to download via iTunes and Amazon as we get so many requests from you for older tracks that are no longer available on physical albums. Over the next few weeks you will find An Aching and A Longing, Far From Silent, Full Colour Black and White and Tangled Souls available there..and we already have the first album up, the much requested and very rare Treasure the Questions.
TTQ is the album that was the real turning point for Martyn and was the signpost for much of his work since, and we think that the songs are still relevant, and there are definitely some very different versions of more familiar songs on there!
Welsh Music Prize
We are still waiting to hear the shortlist for the brand new Welsh Music Prize: the Welsh equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize, awarded to an album released by a Welsh artist over the past 12 months
In the meantime they now have an official website where you can nominate your favourite album of the year, so have a look at http://welshmusicprize.com/

PipeFest 2011
