The home stretch!
I know we're only hours
away now, but any amount of listening/practicing languages/singing with
practice tracks for any of those spots that still make you fumble will
only help us out Friday and Saturday.
Monday's
rehearsal was 3- 4 notches more prepared-sounding than I was expecting,
so I for one am coming into these last rehearsals and performance with a
very excited energy. Be ready for your best, but first and foremost,
HAVE FUN!
Friday's details:
-If a couple of folks can show up at 6:30 (First Baptist), we'll set everything up for a 7pm downbeat.
-Arrive
no later than 6:50, if possible, and plan on dropping stuff off
(coats/bags/etc) in the back rows of chairs, leaving the front 4 rows
available for us to sit in sections; we'll do a combination of singing
on the risers and in the pews.
-Warmups start at 7pm sharp! We'll have a 10 minute break, and be done by 9pm
Saturday's details:
-I
think we'll be able to get by with a 1:50 arrival/2pm warmup downbeat.
We will need to run (at least once) Camaguey and Village as it will be
the first time one of our percussionists plays with us. We will do
minimal rehearsing anything else...just the handful of spots we need,
based on Friday's rehearsal.
-Wear all black, have a black folder for your music.
-at 2:40ish we go to the green room until a 3pm concert start. We'll be done by 4...maybe earlier!
-Sadie
will be playing an interlude after our 6th song...we will leave the
risers, and stand in the back of the church to watch it (those who need
to can sit). We'll return to the risers for our last 5 songs.
Song order is:
Village
Kua
Kacha
Lonesome
Tatkovina
Ukrainian
-interlude-
Camaguey
Ej Za
Erev
Loch
Everybody
SEE YOU FRIDAY!"
