ART ASSIGNMENT MUSEUM DE LAKENHAL LEIDEN 
 
Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden (NL) asked the artist Karin Borghouts to photograph the restoration and expansion of the museum. The assignment shall result in a series which will artistically portray the process of emptying and cleaning up and the remodeling of the museum parts. The construction of the new museum part will be realized by HappelCornelisseVerhoeven Architecten. The museum has closed its doors in May 2016 and reopens in 2019.
Karin Borghouts will get a solo exhibition in the exhibition hall in the new museum and her photographs will be published in a new museumbook.

HISTORICAL BUILDINGS IN MECHELEN 
 
  The City of Mechelen Belgium asked Karin Borghouts to photograph over 40 historical buildings and places.The photographs make avaluable contribution to the city archives and will be used for multiple purposes.

MUSEUM TO SCALE IN THE ART COLLECTION
OF UNIVERSITY ANTWERP
 
 
Museum to scale features more of hundred exhibition rooms at a scale of 1/7. The exhibition gives an overview of Belgian art from the 20th and 21st centuries. More of 100 Belgian artists display their work in miniature rooms measuring 100 x 65 x 60 cm. Among the participating artists are Jan Fabre, Koen Vanmechelen, Wim Delvoye, Luc Tuymans, Dirk Braeckman and many more. Museum to scale 1/7 is curated by Belgian galerist Ronny Van de Velde.

After having been exhibited in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels, Kunsthal Rotterdam, The Baker Museum in Florida and the GhislaArt Collection in Locarno, this impressive installation is now part of the art collection of University Antwerp.

PHOTOGRAPHY INTERBELLUM HOUSE IN KNOKKE
 
 
 The house 'de Beir' is a modernist building designed by the Belgian architect Huib Hoste in 1924. It is situated in Knokke Belgium close to the Northsea. Gallery Ronny Van de Velde commissioned Karin Borghouts to photograph exterior and interiors and organizes four art exhibitions in the house during 2018. The photographs of the house are published in the books accompanying the exhibitions.
