Dear Macro members,

There's still room to join us for our Grand Finale workshop June 5-6, 2026 in Madison, Wisconsin at the Monona Terrace!

We are hoping to see as many of you as possible so that we can celebrate the workshop, and enjoy each other's company while learning and sharing our wonderful aspects of music theory instruction.

I've included the workshop file again, just in case that would be helpful, but here are just some of the items to look forward to at the workshop:

We'll be featuring our Theory Alla Carte session again which was very well received last year. This is an open session that provides the opportunity for all of us to share our best teaching and learning techniques in small groups based on specific interests, and then reporting those results out to the full workshop.

And: here are a few hints about some of the standard presentation topics that will be featured, including suggestions for ways to adapt your music theory to be both public and inclusive, information on how to integrate common tone relationships into macro analysis, how to divide the octave to improve sight singing, and how to approach music theory in manageable steps. And as always, we'll see and hear from the year's Composer Competition Winner!

If you are interested in attending:
Please send an email to Jamie Henke using her jamie.henke@wisc.edu email address and she will add your name to the workshop list.

This is a very collaborative event! We all learn from each other and actively participate, so please join in the camaraderie this learning event provides!

Best wishes!

Jamie
