Now that theatres, pub, concert venues, etc. have been closed down and we all have to remain at home - maybe now is the time to be creative and do some of that recording you always meant to do.
We have the microphones for whatever you are wanting to record. We distribute both Microtech Gefell capacitor microphones and HUM Audio ribbon microphones
Large diaphragm capacitor microphones for vocals - both valve and FET microphones are available, including several with the legendary Georg Neumann M7 PVC capsule which is so loved for vocals by many. There is even the unique UM 900 phantom powered valve microphone that needs no external power supply box.
For
vocals the M930 (pictured on the right) is loved by many for its
versatility - wonderful for speech, excellent for vocals and superb for
instrument pick-up and even great as a stereo pair for ORTF or XY stereo
recording - a very versatile large diapgragm capacitor mic in a compact
housing.
If you
like the M7 capsule, then this is in the UMT70S switchable-pattern mic
and also in the cardioid only version MT71S (these are identical except
the cheaper MT71S is cardioid only). The M7 is also in the UM92.1S
(switchable) and M92.1S (cardioid only) valve microphones - there is
also the re-issue CMV 563 / M7S.
UMT 71S • UM 92.1S • CMV 563 / M7S
For instrument pick-up there is the M300 series (M300 cardioid, M310 super-cardioid, M320 omni) - all three have Gefell's unique optical phantom suppy, where the power just lights an array of LEDs and couplers change the light back to electricity, keeping the audio immune from any nasties that may be on the power supply - also, the M310 and M310 use Gefell's unique ceramic capsule which keeps the diaphragm at a constant tension - more information HERE.
These are just some suggestions, there are lots more - links to all the Gefell microphones can be found here.
BUT - you may prefer a ribbon microphone. We stock the full range of HUM Audio Design ribbons - The RS-2 stereo ribbon, the new ARM-1L (2" ribbon) and ARM-1S (1" ribbon) as well as the RP-2 remote-controlled pre-amplifier. These have been very well received - full information can be found HERE.
These are just some suggestions of how we can help; please feel free to give us a call, we are always happy to help.

BROADCAST
During this time of national lockdown and having to work from home, Sound-Link has the kit to enable you to broadcast from home at the highest quality.
We have the microphones and the codecs to keep you fully connected at the highest quality.
MICROPHONES
The main broadcast microphone is the Gefell M 930, this small large diaphragm condenser mic. has excellent speech quality and is the microphone of choice for many radio broadcasters and voice-over artists. The "broadcast set" includes the "donut" suspension and the matching Håkan Pop Killer.
This combination keeps the microphone out of the way of the scripts and enables clear speech without plosives.
An alternative is the dynamic MD 300 microphone if you do not need a phantom powered condenser mic.
There is also a version of this complete with an attached Håkan Pop Killer.
CODECS
The µScoop is the inexpensive option for point-to-point AoIP.
The ScoopFone is an alternative that includes a microphone input - There are three versions: 4G, HD and IP - the 4G and HD versions include transmission via the mobile phone network and include HD-Voice.
The new eScoopfone is an iPhone app that is a free download, but needs an AETA SIP account to operate (equivalent to about £3 a month).
All AETA codecs are high in quality and reliability with exceptional audio quality.
