THE CRUNCHY FROG NEWSLETTER

Greetings consumers!

First some new news about the newsletter. It’s getting shorter … sometimes … more often! Whut? Yes, we have a habit of writing long newsletters and have been told by marketing wizards in the know that maybe we should make a point of getting to the point. They may be right – but only half-right. Some people like it long, after all. So in the future we will send brief updates more frequently and only once in a much much longer while will we be going on and on about the state of the Frog.

So, let’s try this. Only one headline and one ad incompetently disguised as information.

Yes ma'am. We did. And we do. It's been a fucking b*sy year. We won't go through all the 16 singles from the 25th anniversary comp, but just focus on the physical releases - all of them are of course also out digitally. If you click the record covers below you can buy these sweet records directly from the sauce (our webshop), listen to snippets by clicking the artwork or listen to the whole shebang on your preferred streaming service.

First off some nice 7 inch 45s...

Freshly released Xmas songs from PowerSolo and The Courettes. Both sides feature backing vocals by The Tremolo Beer Gut. Above you see the AA side, and below the A side. Click the beautiful artwork by Martin Couri to listen. Martin has done art for severaul Crunchy releases now, and he used to bang the drums in Thee Attacks as well. He and his wife Flavia form The Courettes. Check 'em out.

Another sweet 45 is our first release of 2019. Two hot AC/DC covers from soulsters D/troit. The combination is nothing short og legendary. One slow jam and one up-tempo old school funk banger.

...then a few Danish language gems...

It was a pleasure and a great honour to release the 3rd LP by Halfdan E featuring the lyrics and spoken word of the Danish poet Dan Turèll. A bona fide legend. It's available both on vinyl and CD. The fantastic artwork was made by Jenz Koudahl from Spild Af Tid. A visual outfit that has many times provided great art and videos for Crunchy artists.

And speaking of awesome artwork. The debut album from Bidt has some pa-retty sweet art. Both lead singer Rasmus Bregnhøi and drummer Morten Voigt are accomplished illustrators and the gatefold LP features a nice 12-inch booklet with art for all songs.

...also a re-issue and a 2xLP comp...

2019 was a year of anniversaries. In May 1999 we released the debut LP from The Tremolo Beer Gut. It sold out fairly quicksville, and only this year we got around to re-issuing this seminal surf'n'western album. A classic, y'all. Get it before it sells out again.

And then, of course, we celebrated our 25th anniversary as a label with our double LP compilation of 16 brand new tracks by 16 different artists: And Now For Something Completely CRUNCHY.

...and finally, from Crunchy Frog Soundtracks:

As the Danish readers might know, we have a sub-label for soundtracks where we release some cool music for kids. The Danish TV character Onkel Reje - or rather his alter ego Mads Geertsen did a heavy metal album, and it's a wild and fun ride - if you speak Danish. Lots of encouragement to fart, skip school, burn your underwear and generally behave like little punks. Gotta raise them kids to raise hell, eh? The CD is out now and the totally awesome picture disc vinyl is out on January 24th - but can be pre-ordered now.

So, to recap:
- we released some boss sounds this year
- and now we want your money

And we ALSO wish you a very merry X-mas. This year was a very special one for us and we will be back before the New Years with a longer tirade about 2019... so with out further ado, here's the link for our web-shop: Go. Get!

To finish of:
Have a happy Festivus celebration eveybody!
