HUD Asst. Secretary announces Pittsburgh 1 of only 4 cities chosen for 30M Choice Neighborhood Grant for Larimer
Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development officials on Monday awarded a $30 million Choice Neighborhoods grant to help build energy efficient housing along with parks, streets and social service programs in Larimer and East Liberty.
The money will be used to build 350 mixed-income homes in the neighborhoods. It represents a major step in paying for what is envisioned as a $90 million development in the economically Pittsburgh city neighborhoods.

Brother's Brother Foundation Responds to Ebola Outbreak in West Africa
On Monday, June 30, 2014 Dr. Karen and Dr. Tom Asher were at BBF’s Northside warehouse to pick up donations of protective gear – gloves, face masks and hospital gowns – for shipment to the Christian Health Association of Sierra Leone (CHASL), in response to requests for assistance related to the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa. Both physicians have served as medical missionaries in Sierra Leone with CHASL and West Africa Education Medical Mission since 2008. They have served in 12 hospitals and multiple clinics throughout Sierra Leone.
