McMaster Engineering Automation Program; Student Poster Night, Apr 2
We are happy to invite you to the capstone poster session
of the McMaster University, Automation Engineering Technology 4th
year students. The event will take place at McMaster in Building ETB Room 524 on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm
. Campus Map
The Automation Engineering Technology 4th
year student have been working all semester on defining, refining and building business cases for their capstone projects, setting the ground for the project implementation phase that will take place during the upcoming Fall semester. Some groups have even started prototyping their ideas. All fifteen groups will present their work through posters and get judged by external judges, as was done in previous years during the ISA EXPO show.
As part of its outreach activities, ISA Hamilton is delighted to support this poster session and the McMaster Automation Engineering Technology Pprogram.
We would really love to have you visit, support and guide the students; the event is open to the whole Automation community. We are also looking for external judges; so, if available and willing to judge a few posters, please e-mail Kostas Apostolou at firstname.lastname@example.org
ISA Hamilton Sponsors McMaster Team to Attend ISA Student Games
ISA Hamilton was pleased to sponsor a student team from McMaster University’s process automation B.Tech program who recently traveled to Calgary Alberta Canada to participate in the ISA-SAIT World Student Games. Hosted by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology ISA Section
, the ISA-SAIT games give process automation students a chance to try out their skills solving a wide variety of control problems in a team setting.
Designed to encourage inter-school collaboration, student participants are assigned randomly to teams so that each team has a members from different schools. Students are then able to make use of the knowledge/experience of all their team members as they work to solve automation problems under a tight time deadline. In all, the games lasted for 3 days and took place from Thursday March 14 to Saturday March 16, 2019. Students were also treated to a welcome social event on the Wednesday evening. Wednesday and Sunday were used as travel days for the students, who came from all across the United States and Canada. In past years, the competition has also welcomed students from South America and Europe.
Many thanks to everyone involved!
