Back in the day, an interviewer once asked Janis Joplin what her generation wanted. Without hesitation she replied, "Sincerity, and a good time!" And that's exactly what Portland Story Theater tries to deliver, show after show. Sincerity, and a good time.

It's been a big year for us! You've supported us through a successful launch of our new Bridges program, personal stories about race, ethnicity, and culture.  We've started to transition our Singlehandedly Festival into the new Solo Series. And our Urban Tellers program of real stories by real people continues to grow in popularity, filling the house at Hipbone Studio month after month, bringing you the kind of true, personal narrative you can't find anywhere else.

Use PayPal to make a donation to Portland Story TheaterAs the year comes to a close, we want to ask for your help. Ticket prices do not cover the cost to produce this work; please consider making a donation to Portland Story Theater. Your tax-deductible donation, in any amount, directly supports Portland Story Theater. We rely on donations from people like you who believe in our work; people who appreciate stories that are told face to face, eye to eye, and heart to heart.

If you've already donated, we are so grateful. Thank you!

It's your generosity that keeps this work going. Portland Story Theater is a registered 501c(3) non-profit and your year end donations are tax deductible! Please consider making a gift this season to Portland Story Theater -- either a one-time sum, or a monthly donation -- even $5 a month makes a difference. Any amount is appreciated, large or small! $25 pays for postage. $50 helps with office supplies. $225 provides a scholarship for a deserving individual who wants to take a workshop. $2500 sponsors a monthly showcase.  Any amount helps us continue to break down barriers and build a new narrative for our community, one story at a time.

Merry Everything! Happy New Year! We hope to see you all in January for the return of Shackleton's Antarctic Nightmare, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 1914 Endurance expedition.

Until then, may the narrative be with you!

Lynne and Lawrence
