August 8 – 10, 2019, is the Outside Lands Festival. This three days of music, performances, art, food and wine in Golden Gate Park has been going on since 2008,
But the name Outside Lands is much older. The name was given to the area in 1866 by San Francisco Mayor Frank McCoppin . The area includes the present day Richmond and Sunset neighborhoods along with Golden Gate Park and the Haight Ashbury .
The Haight has long been a neighborhood that fought to retain its village feel. Join Foot! Fun Walking Tours and learn not only about the Summer of Love but the historical and social network that created community from rolling dunes and dairy farms.
Our August Tour of the month is Flashback, Summer of Love and Winter of discontent. Purchase tickets here and receive $5 off each ticket.
As always a portion of the proceeds from sales of the tour of the month go to support a local community partner. This month it is Pets Are Wonderful Support which was founded to support the healing impact of the human/animal bond and provides foods and services for people who are ill and their pet companions.
