Tip of the Week

          Did you know...

There are only two reasons why a note holder will say no to you;  either he does not believe you, or he does not understand.  You must take responsibility for both.

Quote of the Week

Confidence... thrives on honesty, on honor, on the sacredness of obligations, on faithful protection and on unselfish performance. Without them it cannot live.

President's Corner

Some Note Business Professionals still like to argue about whether we work more effectively out of our homes or at some kind of an office.  Some say they’re most productive in an office environment. Some also say that note  sellers may perceive that note brokers who work out of an office is more “professional” than those who do not. There are some jobs where it is really important to go into work. I have never heard of a heart surgeon who telecommutes or a bus driver who works from a home office. Some Note Professionals may work with note holders who are impressed with opulent offices and dark suites.

When I work with note holders I work all over the country.  I go in and out of my home office all day, I spent a lot of time on the phone and a lot of time in my car and traveling as well. Much of my work in marketing for note holders that I have created is fairly automated and efficient, some of it happens on the internet and my prospecting for new business is has never been more precise. Most of the time, I’m too busy to go in to an office to work. When I did try it very early on in my note career I found myself bringing work home every day. I do most of my office-type work in my very modest, home office. No one ever has trouble finding me if they have a question or need some help.  I do not believe I have ever lost out on a deal because I work at home. Where we work should really be a personal choice. We should focus on what we can accomplish, instead of where it is being accomplished.

Remember, Success Demands Action! Keep on marketing, it’s going to work! TWITA!

Balancing Life and The Note Business

Today’s self employed individuals, especially Note Brokers, seem to need more and more time than ever to keep up with the tasks of the business. In the US, no one knows how many hours a self employed individual puts in per week but it is said that the average employed worker is said to put in 55 hours a week!... Read More...

Question of the Week

Q - Hi Jeff,

I see that you exclusively use the HP 10BII Calculator for the note business.  Can we use the HP 12C? Thanks!

                                                      ~ Raymond

A - Hi Fred!

Thanks for the email! Yes of course! If you already know how to use the HP 12 C by all means use it.  I was taught on the HP 10B II and it is also much easier to teach and for people to learn from who do not have much calculator experience. Hope this helps!

                                                        ~ Jeff
