Harpeth Rising (USA) heads the list along with West Africa's Bortier Okoe (Ghana), exciting new talent Jack Harris (UK)Apodimi Compania (Greece) and SVER (Norway/Sweden).
On the local front we're welcoming festival favourites Trouble in the Kitchen and Señor Cabrales as well as 
Siobhan Owen (SA) and The NEO (NT) 
from our featured states. 
There are dance bands like Old Empire Band and the Wedderburn Charming Emus, emerging artists and rising stars such as Ben Whiting and Direwolfsome who we haven't seen at the National in a good while like Saoirse and Martin Doherty and Leigh Birkett plus poets including The Rhymer from RydeWith 33 artists including 9 internationals it's a bumper announcement.

The National Folk Festival is offering a number of exciting pre-Festival Master Classes in 2017. Bookings are NOW OPEN. 
Daoiri Farrell (Irish bouzouki), Blackie O'Connell (uilleann pipes and whistle), Robbie Walsh (bodhran & percussion), Rowan Rheingans (Singing), Anna Rheingans (French music traditions), Caitlin Nic Gabhann (Concertina), Ciaran O Maonaigh (Irish Fiddle), and Cathal O Currain (Banjo) are all presenting classes.
Classes will be held at Ainslie Arts Centre and will consist of 3 sessions over 2 days (Wed 12 & Thurs 13 April). These provide a wonderful way not only to connect with some of our international artists in an up-close setting but provide first-class tuition from some of the world's best international musicians/teachers in their respective fields.

Once again we are offering patrons the opportunity to pre-order their 2017 Festival T-Shirts online prior to the Festival. For the 2017 Festival we are offering two special designs. As always we will have both designs in all sizes available for purchase at the Festival shop until sold out.
Ordering in advance is an opportunity to make sure you don’t miss out on the right design and size. 
T-Shirts are available online until 10 February 2017. All T-shirts must be picked up from the Festival shop during the Festival between 10am and 2pm daily. We will not be posting out T-Shirts prior to the Festival.

The National Folk Festival produces 10,000 souvenir programs for the event. This high quality A4, 78 page, full colour publication is the Festival's main source of information and is widely used by all Festival attendees.

Volunteer Applications for the 2017 Festival are NOW OPEN!
If you have ever thought about volunteering at the National Folk Festival, 2017 is the year to start. With over 1200 positions across 45 different teams, getting involved and finding a position that suits you has never been easier. In return for a minimum 20 hours of volunteering you will receive a season camping ticket, access to the Volunteer Centre, and the opportunity to become part of our Festival family. 
Volunteer positions are limited so remember to apply early to secure your position and help us create our five days in a perfect world. For more information visit the website.
