More Help with Practicing at Home
In addition to the rehearsal aids listed on the Chorus's website (https://acithaca.org/groups/icccs/music-rehearsal-files/), Chorus member Randi Millman-Brown shares this one that she found helpful with last week's homework:  https://www.youtube.com/@Chord-Perfect .

ACI Fall Workshop
The workshop is ON for NEXT SATURDAY!

Spread the word to anyone you know who likes to sing, and remember to register if you can make it!

Kate's Corner
I could feel a palpable sense of relief at last night’s rehearsal because we were sitting in our typical SATB sections.  After sitting in the Chorus 1 and Chorus 2 arrangement last week, several members suggested that they would have an easier time learning their parts if they could hear everyone in their immediate vicinity singing the same notes!  If you ever have a suggestion that could enhance your singing experience with the chorus, don’t hesitate to share it!
Someone in the chorus (I am blanking on who it was -- you, maybe?) shared that the movement we sang last night, Libera Me, was performed at Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.  Here is a YouTube link to this performance (the video is not the greatest, but the audio is gorgeous):  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqvz3EtfGAo&list=RDhqvz3EtfGAo&start_radio=1
Victor Hugo was on to something when he said, “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.”  I hope you listen to, or sing, music this week that touches your soul.

Musical Medicine of the Week
Marek Przezdziecki wrote: “Listening to Kacey Musgraves always makes me feel happy because of the nice harmonies and catchy melodies.”
Liza Cobb wrote: “When I am brainfoggy, sad, full of despair, or angry, I like to listen to anything by Ludovico Einaudi because his music grounds me.”
Alice Hatt wrote: “When I am happy, I like to listen to Laudate Dominum by Mozart because it is gorgeous!”
Nancy Connelly wrote: “Listening to 'Music Speaks Louder Than Words' by Peter, Paul and Mary always makes me feel happy because it has such a positive message.”
Brian Hall wrote: “Listening to Beethoven’s Opus 132 ‘Holy Song of Thanksgiving’ always makes me feel verklemmt because it sounds like striving vainly toward Heaven.”
