Corner
When I first started my
note business 26 years ago I did
not feel ready, and the note
business seemed a few sizes too
big, however it seemed unwise to
turn down such a great
opportunity. A year and a
half later, after closing a
transaction equal to one year of
my annual pay at the grocery
store, I quit my job and began
growing my note business
further. I didn't have time to
second guess myself; I made the
decision and I had a lot to
learn, and quickly. I would have
never thought of myself as
technically qualified to do what
we do in the note industry but I
had persistence, I put in the
effort and I gained whatever
knowledge I needed back then.
After about 7 years, my learning
curve eventually flattened and I
had finally felt I was qualified
to be a note professional.
From that point forward the
motivation to continue on came
from and still comes from the
never ending supply of note
sellers. Their stories,
the different types of
properties, the puzzle of trying
to figure out the note holders
need versus their want and the
challenge of bringing notes to
closing continues to be very
exhilarating and fun for me.
The
excitement of who might be on
that next phone call and what
puzzle they will have for me to
solve continues to motivate me
after 26 years in the business.
I hope and wish that everyone
reading this finds the same type
of excitement in whatever you
are doing. If it is in the
note business, all the better. Remember, Success
Demands Action! Keep on
marketing, it’s going to work!
