I can't thank you enough for the work you've put in thus far. In these last few days before the concert, find as much time as you can to listen to/repeat text of/sing through the songs that could use a little extra focus. We'll get to (at least a little bit of) everything this Monday, and I'll come to rehearsal with a planned concert order (also available in the next newsletter).

We're almost there and we sound better every rehearsal! Keep up the good work. I know not everyone is a fan of the practice recordings but, as Ross has mentioned, the videos that are available on the website can also be a big help. You will find them in the "Music" category under the VOICES section of our website; they really do provide a good "feel" for the finished product. We have one more Monday rehearsal and a dress rehearsal so now is the time to focus on the details and ask for clarification if you are still struggling.
On the day of our concert, please remember to bring your original numbered blue folder so we can properly identify who has returned their music. It does create a fair amount of work to chase music down if it isn't returned so please do remember to return yours to the collection bin at the end of the concert.

Comments/Suggestions Box
The Comments/Suggestions Box will again be at Monday’s rehearsal. Thanks to those already making input. It really is helpful to have participant perspectives as we plan for upcoming semesters.
Your Listing in the Concert Program
You should have received an email from me asking you to check your listing in the concert program. I will have the roster with me at rehearsal in case it went astray.

Practice tracks (https://acithaca.org/groups/voices/music-files-for-practice/) by
vocal part are available at the Voices website for all but one of our songs
for the semester. Mistakes do creep in during the creation of these
files, so please note any you find and communicate which song, track, and
measure(s) need correction. If you can specify the correction (e.g.,
missing note tie, wrong note, etc.), even better. Send corrections to voicesmusic@acithaca.org

We are Learning! There will be notes and corrections by the Director during rehearsal and perhaps new insights as you practice. You may lightly mark your scores with a pencil - not a pen, marker or highlighter. Keep the pencil in the pocket of your music folder so it does not get misplaced. |

Some members are allergic to
perfumes, colognes, essential oils and other scents and they experience respiratory discomfort if exposed to them. And they will be! We sit close close together and breathe deeply at rehearsal and concerts. Please refrain from wearing them.

The Voices Newsletter is sent out every Thursday during the semester. Sometimes, it may be a day late depending on glitches and brain cramps. In normal times, it will appear in your email in-basket sometime during the day on Thursday. It will also be posted on the website - click HERE to go to that page.
