Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) indicated that he would introduce an amendment requiring Congressional hearings and a vote on a non-binding "joint resolution of disapproval" on any Iran nuclear deal reached by the Obama administration. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) was created in 1949, after the Arabs rejected the 1947 U.N. Partition Plan for Palestine, and five Arab armies attacked the nascent State of Israel and lost their bid to destroy it. David Bedein's new book, "Roadblock to Peace," sheds a much needed light on UNRWA's misunderstood role perpetuating the Arab-Israeli conflict. (More online.)
By eliminating the Defense of Marriage Act and the parallel provision of Pennsylvania's Marriage Law, courts have expanded gay rights and bestowed important benefits to GLBTQ communities. Furthermore, these cases have broadened the doctrine of equal protection of the law making it easier to infer discrimination in facially "neutral" governmental action. (More online.)
