Field Trips and Events
Saturday, February 8, 8am-4pm
Audubon's Winter Waterfowl Special
Registration is open for the Winter Waterfowl Special, an important fundraiser for the Patterson Park Audubon Center. This urban birding adventure will feature five field trips in some of Baltimore's "birdiest" winter hotspots on Saturday, February 8. Our land-based field trips include guided excursions to Masonville Cove, the Maryland Zoo, Fort McHenry, and a driving tour of hotspots between Swann Park and Ridgely's Cove.  At 4 pm, we've chartered with Baltimore Water Taxi for a cruise along the Patapsco River to search for waterfowl, gulls and raptors. Following the cruise, we'll host a Tally Rally at Nick's Fish House to list the species discovered during the field trips.

Saturday, February 15, 9am-12pm, Great Backyard Bird Count
Join us at Pickering Creek for the Great Backyard Bird Count on Saturday, February 15 with activities for adults and families from 9am-12pm. Work with experienced birders for a morning of bird watching and counting on a center-wide winter bird survey. Adult-only teams will cover most of our regular e-Bird monitoring routes that are covered on a monthly basis. A family-friendly bird walk is also scheduled, complete with a scavenger hunt for little ones. All visitors are invited to wrap up the morning’s activities with hot chocolate, coffee or tea at the Center office. Free.  REGISTER HERE

Saturday, February 22, 10am,   Leader: Brad Phoebus,  Fort Smallwood Park
