The National Aspergillosis Centre, Manchester, UK has arranged a meeting for patients and carers to be held at the 8th Advances Against Aspergillosis meeting to be held in Lisbon, Portugal on Thursday 1st February 2018 at 1pm. We wish to start to build a support network for patients & carers in Portugal who have aspergillosis or fungal asthma, increase awareness of aspergillosis and provide educational resources.
The meeting schedule (http://aaa2018.org/patients-meeting/) consists of a series of short talks from NAC staff members and one or two from prominent researchers, together with ample time to network with NAC staff members. We hope to have a Portuguese co-host.
We have written leaflets translated into Portuguese that participants can take away for their own use but also to pass on to doctors and other clinical staff explaining about what aspergillosis is, how we diagnose it and how we treat it. There is also a translated leaflet giving details of the National Aspergillosis Centre, what clinical services as well as support services we run and how to contact us. This leaflet may also be of interest to primary care physicians and specialist nurses for example.
Participation is free of charge and all are welcome (including primary doctors & nurses, other clinical staff), please register interest via the webpage given above, or email email@example.com and write ‘8th AAA registration’ in the subject line
The National Aspergillosis Centre is a UK NHS (public funded) specialist centre and ECMM Centre of Excellence.
Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you at the meeting
