This month I have been giving
you some suggestions on how you
can structure your note business
so you’re focused on your niche
oriented specialized work in the
note business AND able to stay
in a state of gratitude because
your note business is just so
darn cool nothing could get you
down.
My third suggestion on how to
structure your business so
you’re focused on your niche
oriented specialized work AND
able to stay in a state of
gratitude is that Money Is a
Great Mood Lifter, No Matter
What Anyone Says
I’m very grateful when money
comes in, especially if it’s as
a result of what I outlined in
the last two weeks. I know that
when money comes into my
business that 1) my niche
oriented specialized work has
paid off, 2) I’m attracting
ideally matched note holders and
investors and 3) my offers are
resonating with my market. I’m
one of those people who endorse
my checks with the words “thank
you” and a smiley face. When I
pay bills and write checks, I
have started to add in a little
“thank you” in the memo just to
let people know I’m happy I can
contribute to their well-being.
Yes, even when I feel gouged by
taxes I still write a bit of
gratitude on there and envision
my money going to help build
roads, keep libraries open, and
pay teachers.
I’ve found that when I focus on
my niche oriented specialized
work and attracting great note
holders and note investors,
offering top notch services, and
charging what I’m worth then
it’s very easy to maintain a
dose of gratitude. Of course the
down day still haunts me from
time to time, but even if I find
myself in a place of disquiet, I
can find tiny little things to
be grateful for that take me
from the trenches of defeat back
into the feeling of victory.

I get local prospects that ask me where I am located (I’m sure they mean my
office). I'm curious if you have a stock answer for that as I work from
home. Thanks for taking the time to read this email.

Hi Tom!
Thanks for the email!
I get asked the same thing and I just keep it very general as I work out of my
home as well and have for the last 24 years. My answer is simply, "Oh, we are
over in Westlake Village, CA do you know the area?" and they either do or do not
and I can tell you this, they rarely ask to visit me if they are local. And if
they do (ask to visit me) I will usually go to them and meet them for lunch or
coffee of something where they live, but again, rarely. I will also share with
you that I can count on two fingers the number of times I have met a note holder
face to face in 24 years. Hope this helps!
