Hello & Welcome!
We're fresh from this year's Quilt Market & Festival, both of which were successful for us, but I've got a mountain of work (and laundry) to dig out from under! So while I work on getting that mountain down to a manageable size before Thanksgiving, Black Friday and YIKES... Cyber Monday, feel free to go ahead w/o me & get started on this month's newsletter.

"Handbag of the Month" Gallery |
So.... we did a little something different last month!
Since I was away from my studio for almost the entirety of October thru Nov 8th, it's really wasn't advisable for us to attempt conducting our usual monthly contest but... that didn't mean we didn't have a blast anyway with a FUN substitute poll, my 12 " Alltime FAVORITE Customer-Made Bags"! I thought it might be fun to see which of MY favorites was actually YOUR favorite, and as it turns out (as I suspected), it was a REALLY tough choice. The voting was spread pretty evenly throughout the poll but the highest vote-getter was Suzie Tate's "bee"-youteeful Triple Play which you can see by clicking here!
But now it's time to get back to regular "programming" with a brand new "Handbag of the Month" contest... so whenever you're ready, scroll down to check out this month's stunning then vote for your favorite. (For LARGER images: Click on each individual pic)

And here we have a jewel-tone Flaptastic Bag created by Leslie Bowers of Maryville, TN. Leslie said it went together easy and she can't wait to show it off! |

Dawn D. says she absolutely LOVES how her HipBag Hybrid turned out! And didn't she do a fantastic job fussy-cutting the front flap area & she even made two adorable little zipper pouches with the scraps! Dawn says its the perfect size for quilt retreats & shows!

Mary Warman (of nearby Clemmons, NC) made this fit & trim Guardian by request for her niece who wanted a concealed carry bag along with an organizing purse insert, in this case, the Porta-Pockets Purse Insert.

|
And I love the fabrications that Arlene Thayer chose for her Flaptastic Bag. Those poppies look real enough to pick! Arlene said that this bag is a great size for her & will hold everything she needs for everyday use! |

This delightful Guardian in floral was also created by Leslie Bowers and I love the "surprise" green interior she chose (seen here) :) |

And Shirley Allen said she was anxious to try our newest bag pattern, the Flaptastic Bag! She used fabric from the same collection as we did, but in a purple colorway. Her fussy-cutting was pretty great as well! :) |

This gorgeous Guardian was made by Katie Mendoza of Denver, CO. Katie said she started making StudioKat bags to showcase her weaving (which is exceptional, no?) She used vinyl for the sides, bottom & strap and uses the concealed storage area for her passport and wallet! |
|
And finally, here's Diane Rhodes' version of our Festival Pocket Belt. Diane says she loves wearing this belt mainly because she always can locate her phone and she loves going about her business handsfree! |
