This meeting of Fair Trade Organizations, government representatives, certifying bodies, and buyers to exchanges best practices in Fair Trade presents an opportunity for like-minded institutions to work together to enhance sustainable trade that benefits the most vulnerable sectors of society. The conference will focus on developing gender equity, living wage, and business growth within and through the Fair Trade movement.

WFTO-Asia is honoured to present "Unsung Heroes of Fair Trade"- a blog series celebrating leaders and activists in Fair Trade. By shining light on the lives, successes, and challenges of these heroes, we hope their stories inspire partners and friends of Fair Trade and the world at large.
We are pleased to kick off the series with the story of Mallamma Yalawar, founder and CEO of WFTO member Sabala- an organization focused on women's empowerment through skills training and creating opportunities for income generation. Yalawar's passion and work have inspired positive changes for countless lives in India.

The Fair Trade Media Award recongnizes the far-reaching influence of social media in creating public awareness on Fair Trade. The recipient will be awarded 200 Euros along with the sponsorship to attend the Asia Fair Trade Summit. 
Are you a university student with a strong commitment to Fair Trade? The Fair Trade Student Award recognizes the importance of academic research in the development of Fair Trade in Asia. As the recipient of the award, one student will be sponsored to attend the Asia Fair Trade Summit and to participate in its reporting process.
