The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival Returns for 22nd Edition
The 22nd Dominican Republic Jazz Festival, presented by FEDUJAZZ and the Ministry of Tourism, will host eight nights of free concerts in six cities recognizing music, culture and the arts.
The 2018 festival show dates:

- October 27 – Santiago
- October 28 – Santo Domingo
- November 1 – Sosúa
- November 2 – Puerto Plata
- November 3 & 4 – Cabarete
Celebrating a rich history spanning over twenty years, the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival has enjoyed participation by internationally acclaimed artists and prestigious GRAMMY Award winners.
All Dominican Republic Jazz Festival shows are free and open to the public, with VIP tickets and priority seating available for purchase. Proceeds of VIP ticket sales benefit FEDUJAZZ, the music education foundation of the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival.
FEDUJAZZ provides free music education for the youth of the Dominican Republic. Currently, there are one hundred students attending free music classes at the foundation’s center in Cabarete. Hundreds of schoolchildren from the North Coast of the Dominican Republic also attend educational music workshops with the renowned musicians performing at the jazz festival each year.

Dominican Republic Takes First Place in Twin Tip Racing Youth World Championships
The Dominican Republic’s Adeuri Corniel of Cabarete has earned himself the title of Youth World Champion, and a most coveted spot on the Dominican Republic’s Youth Olympic Team.
Hainan, the tropical Chinese island located in the South China Sea was the setting for the Twin Tip Racing Youth World Championships in May. 38 boys and 24 girls from 26 countries found their way to the Asia Bay to compete in the Olympic Game’s newest sport: Slolom twin tip racing.
From the Dominican Republic, a local team training with Cabarete Kite Academy qualified for the Twin Tip Racing Youth World Championships giving each of our four athletes the opportunity to travel and experience competing at a world class level and to represent the Dominican Republic on the world stage.
Competition was fierce, with an exceptional turnout at the event due to athletes vying for their last chance to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in October of this year. Lorenzo Calcaño of Cabarete competed well and finished third, with team member Adeuri Corniel taking First Place in The Twin Tip Racing Youth World Championships in China, sending him on his way to the Youth Olympics Games in October.
