Hello Gospel Music Friends,

 

It's hard to believe that we are only a week away from our "Fall Gospel Jubilee" at the Dixieland Music Park in Waldo, FL!  If you've never been with us at Waldo, it's a great, laid-back gospel music weekend getaway.  There's over 300 campsites with hookups directly on the grounds!  You can literally walk from your camper to the singing!  For camping reservations, call (352) 468-3988.  There's also a nice hotel - the Waldo Inn & Suites (formerly Sleep Inn) located next door to the music park.  For hotel reservations, call (352) 468-2500.  (Be sure to tell them you are coming for the "Fall Gospel Jubilee" to get the discounted rates!)  The singing is held under an open-air, covered pavilion - rain or shine.  Bring your lawn chairs for seating.  In case of rain or cooler temperatures, we can also fully enlose the pavilion so everyone is comfortable.  Many people love coming to Waldo because of the famous Waldo flea markets, within walking distance of the music park.  The complete details are on the graphic, attached at the end of this email.  (We've just added Logan Smith to the Saturday night lineup.)

I'm super excited about the "Greatest Hits Tour" concerts that we are promoting on November 7th and 8th.  These concerts feature Michael English, the Nelons, and Jeff Stice.  We recently had this tour as part of "Jackson Sings the Gospel" in July, and it was a fantastic program!  The following are the details for both concerts!

One of our most popular events we do each year is our "Southern Gospel Christmas Spectacular" at the Community Building in beautiful Mount Dora, FL.  This year's date is Friday, December 4th, and will feature the Kingsmen, McKameys, and the Ball Brothers.  What makes this event so special is that the entire downtown of Mount Dora is decorated in Christmas lights!  At 5:45pm, Mount Dora turns into a Christmas city!  We want all of our friends in central Florida and the surrounding areas to make your plans to attend.

 

 

For those in Bradenton/Sarasota, along with the area between Fort Myers and Tampa, we are taking a one-day bus trip to Mount Dora.  The trip includes round trip deluxe motorcoach transportation, dinner at the historic Lakeside Inn Hotel, and a reserved seat for the evening concert.  The cost is just $65 per person (with an additional $12 per person for the concert, paid at the door upon arrival).  This bus will fill up fast, and we encourage you to make your reservations quickly!  To make your reservation or for more details, call (941) 756-6942.

Here at Happy Gospel Church in Bradenton, FL, we are looking forward to a great Sunday, October 18th!  I will be preaching in both morning services - 9am at HGC@The Ranch, and 11am at HGC@Bradenton.  Then at 6pm, we welcome Allison Speer in concert.  Allison has been on most of the Bill Gaither "Homecoming" videos, and is one of the funniest ladies I've met.  She will be a tremendous blessing for sure!

In closing, gospel music lost a legend this past week with Faye Speer's passing.  She was one of the classiest and most elegant women I have ever met in our industry.  Faye was married to Brock Speer, who preceded her in death in 1999.  She sang with the group all of the years that I promoted the Speers throughout the 90's.  She'll always be remembered for her signature song, "He's Ever Interceding".  Allison Speer's husband, Brian, is one Faye's two sons.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Speer Family.
