Friendship... is not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.  ― Muhammad Ali

 President's Corner

Have a realistic, and continually reassessed, idea of who you are and your place in the note industry.

There's a big difference between self-confidence and self-delusion. If you want to make the claim that you're the best note professional in the Southwest, then you'd better have a comprehensive understanding of the note market in that region. Otherwise you're setting yourself up to look foolish, have very little credibility and not get the business you're going after.

Also, if you're delusional about your abilities and your place in the note industry, you're far less receptive to outside ideas and far less likely to be able to grow professionally. Bottom line - know yourself, really know yourself.

Communication with Note Holders

In a service industry like note brokering, you are the product. The competition for the note seller’s deal is seldom decided by money; the choice is between note brokers. If you are to distinguish yourself from other brokers, you must learn to communicate with note sellers in terms that are meaningful to them... Read More...

Question of the Week

Q - Hi Jeff,

Hope your day is going well. I purchased some of your books and read through your Broker Package a bit, great information, thank you.  Wondering what you mean when you say you will help new people? Exactly what will you do for them, when they bring a note to you? And do you mentor and if you do is it an exorbitant fee?

                                                      ~ Howard
A - Hi Howard!

Thanks for the email! After you have gone through all of the material in the resources feel free to email me any specific questions that you would like answered. Please limit it to a couple of questions per email.

When you come across notes that need pricing you can absolutely use me and my investors. All you would do is to email me a completed worksheet (or fill out my online form here: http://www.armstrongcapital.com/Note-Prices.htm .

At that point I will determine which of my 70+ investors will pay the most for the note assuming a AAA note. Then I will get back with you usually within 24 hours or the next business day with some initial pricing options.

And then of course be there to walk you through the process when you get an acceptance. When we close the transaction we only take a $400 processing fee if your commission is under $5,000 and 20% if over $5,000.

I do have a Mentoring program for $4,997 but I do not take just anyone AND I usually like them to have a couple of closed deals through me first to make sure they really want to do the business full time before they spend that kind of money on more in depth mentoring. I do not mentor very many people at all would rather buy and broker notes. Hope this helps! TWITA!                    ~ Jeff
