 Georgia Latino Film Festival Announces their 2014 Award Winners.
Gato Negro takes best picture, Marlon Moreno Snags Best Actor.
Atlanta, Georgia - The Georgia Latino Film Festival  announced today 2014’s awardees of the film, fiction, documentaries and shorts categories.
“Our mission which includes the development of the next generation of filmmakers and connecting them with the industry leaders, it is imperative that the Latino Community of Georgia get more involved in the film industry. We are also grateful to our judges for volunteering their time and knowledge,” said festival director Yvette Moise.
Here are the Georgia Latino Film Festival 2014 Awardees.
The Award for Best Feature Film, Best Director and Best Script honors goes to Argentina's submission "GATO NEGRO" , written and directed by Gaston Gallo ” Best Actor Award was given to Columbia's Marlon Moreno "CAZANDO LUCIÉRNAGAS". Best Dramatic Actress prize will be awarded to “Eterna Venganza ” star Anna Ochoa which made their North American debuts at the Georgia Latino Film Festival, most awardees will attend 2015 award ceremony which opens on Friday, October 23, 2015 with The Georgia Latino Film Festival VIP Screening and awards ceremony at the Center of Civil and Human Rights.
Other winning submissions were "Bloody Knuckles" best Student Film directed by Omar Torres. The Best Short Film Award went to Valerio Mendoza Guillen for "Bolero para Surfear en Moravia". The Award for Best Documentary Feature Film went to "Buscando A Gaston", directed by Patricia Perez. Honarable mention "After School"  Carlos Mendoza and Mauricio Mendoza
"It was difficult choosing the winners, as they all were winners in my book," said Jose Marquez, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Geoorgia Latino Film Festival. "These new filmmakers are the future of Latino Films and we are excited to have been able to showcase them at the Festival in 2014,  they are the best of the best".  
"Our Festival is a place where producer and director's can come and meet the power players in the film industry in Georgia, our goal is simple to continue to develop the next generation of storytellers so Georgia has a great talent pool to choose from," says Lance Robertson, Co-Founder, Georgia Latino Film Festival.
