Dear Neighbors,
I hope your summer⛱️ is going well.

Here are your monthly updates.
Fighting Illegal Helicopter Operations
For years, I have been committed to addressing the non-essential helicopter traffic that disrupts the lives of Hoboken residents, and menaces our public spaces. I've worked with residents, grass-roots activists, and our local, county, state, and federal partners to make meaningful change.
That's why I was pleased to see Hudson County Executive Craig Guy and the Hudson County Board of Commissioners approve a shared services agreement for Hudson County, Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, and Kearny to jointly fund litigation against the Kearny-based helicopter operations responsible for illegally operating non-essential helicopter flights that menace our communities. You can read about it here and here.
Hoboken is New Jersey's #1 🏆 City for Biking 🚲
As a champion of Hoboken’s Citibike program, and creating protected bike paths allowing cyclists of all ages and abilities to safely cycle through our densely populated community, I was thrilled to see Hoboken recognized as a leader in safe, sustainable transportation – earning the No. 1 ranking for biking in New Jersey from PeopleForBikes as well as earning a top ranking for midsize cities nationwide!
As we continue investing in our transportation network, I will work to ensure everyone—walkers, bikers, commuters, drivers, kids, seniors, or people with mobility challenges—can safely travel throughout our community. You can read about this important recognition here and here.
Improving Sidewalk Accessibility Across Hoboken
You may notice Daxbot robots traveling our sidewalks and collecting data on sidewalk conditions, curb ramps, crosswalks, pedestrian signals, and park paths. This engineering assessment will help identify barriers to accessibility and guide future improvements that make it easier and safer for all our pedestrians—including seniors, people with disabilities, and folks pushing strollers.
