THE ORANGE PLAGUE UNVEILED AT THE EU PARLIAMENT
Dear ,
I just unveiled my controversial sculpture The Orange Plague inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The three day exhibition is hosted by MEP Per Clausen (The Left), and we are all very exited to see how the exhiibtion is recieved by the decision makers of Europe.
The sculpture shows a naked Donald Trump, covered in 23-carat gold leaf, sitting on the back of a frail man. He holds the scales of justice, while a golf club and a golf-ball globe lie beside him.
“The sculpture is not directed against the European Parliament. Quite the opposite. It is about the attempts by the great powers to dominate, control and reshape the world according to their own interests.”
“Trump is an extreme and very visible symbol of this development. I have made him naked and covered him in gold because sometimes satire can say things that political language cannot.”

The work is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Clothes and raises a simple question: How long will we allow ourselves to carry the powerful on our backs?

Every visitor to the exhibition will receive a
3D-printed miniature of the sculpture to take home – a small protest symbol and a reminder that resistance to the abuse of power can also begin with art, humour and debate.
The exhibition can only be seen inside the EU Parliament – but for you can join us live at 13:00 on
