A subtle and gripping tale about the way memory plays tricks.
The Hollywood Reporter
A tightly written chamber piece with remarkably sensitive performances, the film deserves to be appreciated for its purely dramatic qualities. Shot largely in close-ups, Sagall puts both Clara Khoury and Nataly Attiya under a magnifying glass to register the smallest details of their performances, with quite astonishing results.
Screen Daily
Alternate recollection of the events represent the best sequences in the film -- well lensed, disquieting and driven by Rosenblatt's standout performance, which exudes a teasing confidence that masks more troubled emotions.
Variety
One of the better films of this year’s Berlinale.
Kino-Zeit
Sagall's LIPSTIKKA is one of the better, psychologically deeper
and more cinematically ambitious movies of the year.
