Welcome to May with London Drawing- and there is a definite creative spring in our step!
Join us for an intense day of drawing and visual drama as we explore the body in the psychological spaces of Bacon’s visceral and brutally powerful paintings against the incredible chambers of the Crypt Gallery. Challenging, immersive and inspirational- this is going to be pretty special!
We will be at the Arcola Theatre this Saturday 5 May for a unique opportunity to draw from the performance as it unfolds. We will be create drawings and art work from a special preview performance of Marion Bott’s explosive new play produced by The Alchemist and Fine Line: ‘Moormaid‘- Bring your sketch books!
Join us on the 19 May for a special one day creative workshop using techniques and themes inspired by Picasso and the current exibition of his work at Tate Modern. We will be using collage, drawing, painting and a range creative and explorative approaches to channel the master of abstraction, all working from the life model.
FROM 5 MAY: A NEW SECRET SKETCH CLASS! We are adding a second Secret Sketch class on a Saturday at Vaulty Towers- so from 5 May you will have a morning or afternoon class to choose from- or do both :) Lucky you! And Finally - of course- join us for some of the best drop-in life classes evening in London- Bank Holiday class info in link above and listings below.

Join us at the brilliant Arcola Theatre for an exciting afternoon of performance and drawing as we are invited to create drawings and art work from a special preview performance of Marion Bott’s explosive new play produced by The Alchemist and Fine Line: ‘Moormaid‘.
We have access to the play to draw and create from as the performance unfolds and also special set ups with the performers based on the play after the show.
This is a unique creative opportunity to work from the play in action, working with the performers and responding in real time to the performance and dialogue, and creating work from the strong sets and imagery in this imaginative and thought provoking piece of theatre- prepare for action and dynamism!

Join London Drawing tutor and artist Frank Gambino for a workshop designed to encourage you to explore physicality in your drawing. This is a really exciting class- using physical, dynamic models and sound to help you get in touch with your dynamic side to use your body in your drawing- all using simple materials and approaches.
Frank Gambino is a very physical artist, who has lots to offer with regard to creating confidence and strength in your drawing. As with all our workshops- expect practical demonstrations, lots of helpful tips and one to one tuition.

One day Life Painting sessions designed to provide the skills needed to approach painting with confidence.
This is a great general painting class, good for all levels of ability. All basic skills needed to achieve an accomplished painting are approached- including composition, use of colour, mixing, and application of paint using both oils and acrylics. The aim of the workshop is to have completed an in-depth sketch in oils and acrylics by the end of the day.

Day time drop in life classes in an intriuging venue run by our friends Vaulty Towers. Escape the madding crowd and join us for a cosy secret sketch in a hidden underground hideaway!
As with all our classes expect an inspiring venue,
great models and professional, friendly tuition- with poses from 1 minute to 1 hour there is something for everyone and all abilities are welcome. You can buy materials in the class or bring your own.

YOU COULD FIND THE NEXT LONDON DRAWING VENUE! |
The search is on for the next London Drawing venue! We are really keen to begin more drop in life drawing sessions and saturday life drawing and painting workshops. We need a venue with a decent sized room or studio, ideally with good transport links.
Our Doodle Bar venue, Artizan St and also The Vaults were all suggested by our members and have proved amazingly useful!
London is a very big place and we can cover it using you as our eyes and ears- can you think of a venue which might work?
