PRESS INVITATION – CONTROVERSIAL SCULPTURE EXHIBITION TO BE UNVEILED AT THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

Dear members of the press,
Tomorrow, I will unveil a new political sculpture exhibition inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg. For now, the sculpture remains covered and its subject is secret.

All I can say is that it is a artistic comment to the world situation and some of the challenges we face. I am very exited about the exhibition and I expect it to attract attention, provoke reactions and perhaps cause a little trouble.

The exhibition is hosted by Danish MEP Per Clausen, from the Left, to whom I am very greatful for having the bravery to arrange this.

Both Per Clausen and I will be there to present the sculpture, explain the ideas behind it and answer questions from the press.

This is my fourth (and most controversial) exhibition at the European Parliament, and one of my sculptures is already part of the Parliament’s permanent art collection.

Journalists, photographers and camera crews are very welcome (if credited).

I hope to see you at the unveiling.
Best regards,

Jens Galschiøt

About Jens Galschiøt

Danish artist Jens Galschiøt has created many socio-critical sculptures and installations through the years. Most often they are placed in public spaces around the world – as needle-sticks and silent reminders of a world that, in his opinion, is out of balance, and where exploitation of the world’s resources, inequality and migration are a constant part of the picture.
