GPS welcomes Producer, Songwriter, and Remixer Sam Spiegel to the Client Roster GPS is excited to announce the signing of Los Angeles based producer, songwriter, and remixer Sam Spiegel, also previously known as Squeak E. Clean. In addition to writing and producing for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Crystal Castles, and Maroon 5, Spiegel produces his own music with his groups N.A.S.A. and Maximum Hedrum. His eclectic career also branches further into film composition, where Spiegel has scored commercials for Adidas, Converse, Levi's, and ESPN, as well as films including Yeah Right and Jack Ass 3D. A New York native, after moving to Los Angeles Spiegel began DJ'ing at clubs, premiers, parties, and fashion shows both locally and around the world. Simultaneously he built a reputation as a producer, distinguishing himself with a knack for arranging unique collaborations. In 2009, after 5 years of work, Spiegel and Brazilian DJ Zegon released The Spirit of Apollo under the name N.A.S.A. The album features pairings ranging from RZA with John Frusciante to Karen O with Ol' Dirty Bastard, and Kanye West with Santigold and Lykke Li. Spiegel and Karen O are frequently collaborators outside of N.A.S.A. as well. Spiegel co-wrote and produced both the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Show Your Bones (Interscope), as well as Karen's Stop the Virgins (Interscope) project. As a producer and co-writer Spiegel's credits also include Maroon 5's "Wasted Years" from Overexposed (A&M Octone), and Crystal Castles' "Courtship Dating," "Through the Hosiery," and "Black Panther" from I (Lies Records), amongst others. Not content in one medium, Spiegel has applied his musical talents to a number of films and commercials, often collaborating with notable director Spike Jonze, in addition to scoring the popular video game Skate 2. In 2010 Target hired Spiegel to coordinate a unique synchronized light, sound, and fashion show at The Standard New York Hotel, featuring his original score. He was also the musical director for Kanye West's 2008 Glow in the Dark Tour. Most recently Spiegel composed the original score for Jackass's Bad Grandpa starring Johnny Knoxville (out October 25th), and produced the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Buried Alive" off Mosquito (Interscope) along with James Murphy.
