Our physical location is 1/2 mile west of the Kilpatrick turnpike on Wilshire or 2 1/2 miles East of HY4
I did not send a bulletin out this past Thursday because there was a freeze coming and Everyone was busy preparing for the freeze. We lost the plastic on one greenhouse and had to move much from that house to others. It looks like the freezes are over and we have moved most stuff back outside, or back to its proper place.

Fireball Texas Star Summer in Paradaise
Clematis
For the first time in many years we have started growing clematis. They are planted and are for sale. We have six or 8 varieties. Find them in green houise number two. Below see some of the images. clematis should be planted so they get shade on the root syetem but sun on the plant so mulch the base to keep the ground cooler.
Viburnums
Our fragrant viburnums in our display gardens are blooming now. They are very easy to grow in full sun or under the canopy of large trees.
Viburnums are another early spring plant. They are shrubs that can be kept under 6 feet or allowed to grow into small trees. Some have very fragrant flowers and some have flowers that look like large snowballs. We grow several different varieties. We have one with variegated green and yellow leaves. Below are pictures of some viburnum flowers that we have in stock. Find them in green house number five.
Peonies
The peonies are all coming up now and they are ready to purchase. We have around 350 containers to chose from. If you come early, you can chose from a great se;lection and get to pick the containers with the most plants in them. Below are just a few of the varieties we have to chose from.
And to my customer from Altus who has been coming out here for many years....yes the Red Charm are also coming up!
Peonies love the full sun and good drainage. Plant them once and they will live undisturbed for over 50 years. Use them as one of several perennials in your garden to have outstanding bloom all aummer long. Peonies bloom in central Oklahoma in late April through early May.
Kerria Plenifora
This is an old shrub that should be used a lot more. It will grow in full sun or fairly deep shade. The plant has fully double bright yellow flowers that lasts for many weeks in the spring and will rebloom if grown in the sun. Find this plant in green house number three.
Ilex Verticulata Warren Red
This is another of the new plants we just got in. It is a decidious holly that loses it's leaves in the fall and what is left is a tree full of bright red berries. When it has been in for a few years it is trulky a sight to see when all the flowers are gone in the fall in winter. See image below.
Althea
We have many varieties of althea, or rose of sharon available for pickup. They have been our most popular flowering shrub the last three years. Althea will bloom from June until frost and com in a variety of colors. Below are just a few of the ones we have for sale in gree house number three.

This is just a small fraction of the new plants we are carrying this spring. You will have fun walking through the green houses this spring. the plants mentioned in this bulletin are ready for sale now.
We are still getting shipments of plants every week now and hope to have the greenhouses full in the next few weeks. This is the busiest time of the year for us, getting the plants planted and fertilized and arranged in the green houses in the right places. some of these plants are very hard to find in the nursery trade so we will mention them soon so you will know they are here.
We want to remind everyone to bring any unwanted containers to the nursery any time you are out this way. Set them off at the parking sign and we will move them. We recycle them over and over and it helps hold our prices down.
