Concert:

First Baptist Church of Ithaca. Call time 1:00pm
Dress Rehearsal:
Friday, May 15: First Baptist Church. 7:00 to 9:00pm

Invite your friends, families, neighbors to the May 16th concert.
Ross' Refrain
As mentioned in rehearsal, I have decided that we will drop one of
our 12 pieces in an effort to have the time needed to focus on
solidifying the remaining 11. I'm sorry to see it go, but we'll bid
farewell to "De Colores," this time around. Keep it in your folder to
return with the other music, but no need to look at it further.
Over
the next two rehearsals, consider if there are any solo
opportunities that you are interested in. The following pieces have some
minor-to-major solos that could be assigned to sections in the choir,
but would be great to be covered by individuals who are interested:
-It Takes a Village
-Kua Rongo
-Loch Lomond
-Tatkovina
Please send me an email at voicesdirector@acithaca.org anytime over the next 2 weeks to express an interest in a particular
solo, or just an interest in general. I'd like to have finalized
soloists by our 5/11 rehearsal...

This is a great time to start considering how you might help promote our
upcoming concert. Soon we will have concert flyers and index cards
that can be distributed to friends and local businesses. If you have
places you frequent that will allow you to post on their bulletin board
or leave a small stack of cards for customers to pick up, this will help to promote our concert.
If you belong to a community email list or use facebook those are also
great ways to get the word out. We will provide an electronic flyer that
you can post or email.
This is also a time when many of us turn to the practice recordings to
prepare for the concert. Should you find any errors in the tracks please
write down the song title, the measures, the voice part, and the
corrections needed and send them to
voicesmusic@acithaca.org. so they can be corrected.

The Voices Newsletter is sent out every Thursday during the semester. Sometimes, it may be a day late depending on glitches and brain cramps.
