Sound-Link now also distribute HUM Audio
ribbon microphones in the UK
 
Many people love the special sound that a ribbon brings to a recording and Sound-Link now distribute the superb ribbon microphones from HUM Audio Devices.
 
Their magnificent RS-2 stereo ribbon has been very well reviewed (the Sound On Sound review is here) and one user commented:
“It’s amazing on grand piano, the depth in the sounds is incredible. 
Distant room mic. on drums is incredible too, the low end is huge.
 Very impressed!
I didn’t think a microphone could be worth that kind of money but I stand corrected.”
 
HUM Audio have now added two new ribbon microphones to the range: the ARM-1L has a 2" ribbon and the ARM-1S has a shorter 1" ribbon - both these are currently with a reviewer being reviewed for a later issue of Sound On Sound - watch this space.
 
They have also added the RP-2, a remote-controlled 2-channel pre-amplifier.
 
Details on HUM Audio are on the website HERE and the UK price list is here (please note that the RS-2 is about £1,000 cheaper than the price mentioned in the review).
 
We now have all the microphones in the UK for demonstration - we have the RS-2, a pair of the ARM-1L and the RP-2 here, though the ARM-1S is currently with Sound On Sound.
 
  


 
 
 
 
 
  
ME-GEITHAIN RL934K
 
The recently introduced RL934K is becoming rather popular - about the same size and price as the RL944K, the 934 has a larger 10" bass unit and lowers the bottom end response to 30Hz.  5Hz lower than the 944 and only 5Hz shy of the large RL901K.  So this is becoming the monitor of choice for many control rooms.
 
We now have a pair of these on demonstration in the UK (ours are in BirdsEye Maple) and have also added to the price list our custom carrying bags for these monitors to protect them in transit for those who need to carry them on location.
 
So if you need to hear these - we have a pair here and can bring them to you.
 
 
ME-GEITHAIN SLK 906 Flight Case - special price
 
Due to an order cancellation we have available one flight case for a pair of ME-Geithain RL906 for a very special price.
 
This case normally sells for £ 580.00 +VAT, but we can do this one for just £ 395.00 +VAT.
 
This is a one-off and unrepeatable.
 
The case comes empty, without contents, and is designed to hold a pair of RL906 and includes a section for cables - the pictures below show what it looks like.
