Jenny's se enorgullece de presentar otra exposición a la comunidad artística, esta vez por Mathieu Maloeuf, nacido en 1984 en Canadá. Maloeuf es un artista masculino con orígenes canadienses franceses y genes libaneses / mediterráneos (más del 12,5%). #luketurnerisretarded / #luketurnerisgay será la tercera exposición individual del artista con la galería en su ubicación actual de Silverlake. Con la excepción de Tankie Meme (Blacked), 2018-2019, que apareció anteriormente en House of Gaga en la Ciudad de México como parte de Dedicado a Andrea Dworkin, todas las obras de esta exposición se muestran por primera vez.
Nueve trabajos retratan al senador estadounidense Jesse Helms en un intento de estilo "frito", una popular estética de internet a la que el artista desea rendirle homenaje en lugar de saquearlo y hacerlo apropiado. Muchas de estas obras se basan en fotos digitalmente manipuladas de la lápida de Helms en Raleigh, Carolina del Norte, que se transmitieron en lino plateado utilizando un sistema de serigrafía de 4 colores en el estudio con muchos asistentes.
Otras dos pinturas, FERTILIZING THE NEKROVULA y THE SCREAM, son meditaciones similares a un mandala sobre la naturaleza de la muerte y la violencia del ser, parte de una serie recientemente iniciada y en curso sobre la conciencia humana que también está a la vista como parte del stand de Greene Naftali en Frieze LA (La ira de Dios, 2019). Se han producido 20 pósters únicos, serigrafiados a mano, para esta exposición.
Desde 2013, el artista está casado con Heji Shin, un artista y fotógrafo coreano-alemán que participará en la próxima Bienal Whitney en el Whitney Museum of American Art en Nueva York (2019) y que recientemente presentó una exposición individual en el Kunsthalle Zurich en Suiza (2018).

Jenny's is proud to present another exhibition to the arts community, this time by Mathieu Maloeuf, born in 1984 in Canada. Maloeuf is a male artist with French Canadian origins and Lebanese/Mediterranean genes (upwards of 12.5%). #luketurnerisretarded / #luketu
Nine works portray the American senator Jesse Helms in an attempted “deep-fried” style, a popular internet aesthetic the artist wishes to pay homage to rather than plunder and appropriate. Many of these works are based on digitally manipulated photos of Helms's gravestone in Raleigh, North Carolina, which were conveyed onto silvered linen using a 4-color silkscreen system in the studio using many assistants.
Two other paintings, FERTILIZING THE NEKROVULA and THE SCREAM, are mandala-like meditations on the nature of death and the violence of being, part of a recently initiated and ongoing series about human consciousness also on view as part of Greene Naftali’s booth at Frieze LA (The Anger of God, 2019).
20 hand-silkscreened, unique posters have been produced for this exhibition.
Since 2013, the artist is married to Heji Shin, a Korean-German artist and photographer who will take part in the next Whitney Biennale at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York (2019) and who recently presented a solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Zurich in Switzerland (2018).
