Her "Laurel Burch"- inspired Wrapsody was lovely and prevailed over all of of the other entries last month! Marj wins a $25.00 SKD virtual gift certificate and a permanent place of honor in our Handbag Gallery. Click HERE to see her beautiful entry!

BUT...it's a new month & there's already a new contest underway. Just scroll down to see this month's entries!

Let's kick it off with this amazing Quattro by Patti Foley. I totally love the houndstooth exterior and Patti said that she used 4 other premium cottons and then topped it off with complimentary monogramming on the front pocket.

And since this Quattro features butterflies, then that tells me that it's another creation by Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ. I really love the signature butterfly zipperpull as well!  :)

And Mandy Mitchell of the UK created this particular Triple Play for herself and as a cat lover I'm crazy about the exterior!

And how do you like the fabric that Cari Degraffenreid chose for her Guardian? I bet she's having fun carrying it!  :)

And this paisley-motifed Baggalista was created by Veronica Johnson of Lindisfarm, Australia. I like how she fussy-cut the fabric so the front and back highlights a different area of the fabric.  :)

Mandy Mitchell of the UK made this Triple Play bag for her grown up daughter who always tries to visit a zoo wherever she goes!

Sandy Kiester of Kansas is a FaceBook follower and posted a picture of this fun Gadabout! I love how Sandy embroidered cherries on the flap since they're reminiscent of the fabric repeat!

Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ created this fantastic Quattro. I love the fabrications Cheryl chose and how she fussy-cut her fabric so perfectly on the front pocket.

This colorful Cosmo Convertible was created by Diane Rhodes of Monroeville, PA. I think this might be the third bag that Diane has made up in this stained-glass style fabric... each more beautiful than the last! Her Cosmo is set up as a shoulder bag in this photo, but all it can easily function as a backpack by just reconfiguring the straps!
OK, ready to vote now?

Cats in the News- Page, the Store Cat

In Charlotte, North Carolina, Page the cat was found after being tossed in a dumpster like a piece of trash. Luckily, the folks at Book Buyers discovered and appropriately named the feline, who was just a tiny kitten at the time. With a little coaxing, Page befriended the humans, and now the kitty calls the bookstore home.
However, customer service isn’t exactly her specialty. (Click HERE to read more and to see many more adorable pictures!)

Angela Clayton is an eighteen-year-old costume designer from Long Island, New York. She first started sewing three years ago when she got interested in cosplay; now, Clayton attends events less often, and has evolved to focus more on original designs. Her projects can take as long as 250 hours, and Clayton once used 11 meters (12 yards) of fabric for a costume!
“The costume work in the film “The Three Musketeers” and the series “The Borgias” were what got me interested in historical fashion in the first place,” Clayton told Bored Panda. “I spend hours sewing every day. And if i’m not sewing, i’m probably thinking about sewing.”
