Hello Firstname

Wednesday 22 April
Next Wednesday we were due a talk from Diana Goss ARPS and Elmer Maniebo, with their talk on Night Time Photography. Unfortunately Diana has gone down with a serious illness and sadly won't be able to travel to Bristol.
However she has sent her DVD on night photography which we will be playing instead. Diana's website can be found at http://www.notmagnum.co.uk/

Studio Group
The next studio evening will be aimed at more advanced photographers and will explore low light and projection of images in conjunction with a model. Please sign up using this link, the event is limited to 6 photographers and there will be a charge of £15 per photographer to cover the model costs. If the event is oversubscribed, any members who sign up will go onto the waiting list and will receive priority for the next event.

Unit 13
There's not a huge amount to report this week. The problem reported last week concerning the missing steelwork has now been resolved and work has progressed on schedule. The timber framework for all of the internal walls is now in place, as is all of the carcass wiring for the lighting and power circuits and the fire alarm. Hopefully, next week, the plasterers will be moving in and things should really start to take shape and maybe the wizardry of Mike Bigger's photography should be able to show you some marked difference between the building as shown in last week's issue and the next issue.

BPS Library
Mike Bigger reminds me that there are still a number of surplus books in the window at the back of the clubroom. Please take any that are of interest to save us having to cart them to the new clubrooms when we move!

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
PSA Star ratings are based on acceptances in PSA Recognised International Salons with a minimum of 18 acceptances for the first star. Greg Duncan has recently achieving the unique distinction of gaining a star rating in all six of the PSA Divisions (Projected Image, Nature, Travel, Photojournalism, Print and 3D). Not only that, but he has received awards for his pictures in all six divisions. Very few photographers have shown this level of versatility (so, there's one in the eye for Mrs Duncan!).

If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
