CLTA Presents a Workshop on the NEW AP French Exam

CLTA is happy to announce that it will offer a six hour workshop on the new examination on Friday, March 18, 2011, at its March State Conference in Santa Clara. This will be an official College Board-endorsed workshop. The presenter will be the College Board’s own James Monk, Director of AP Content and Curriculum, who will be joining us from the East Coast specifically to give our workshop participants an overview of the new examination. This workshop will be limited to 40 participants. So please go to the CLTA website to sign up before all of the places are taken.

You can register online at http://www.clta.net/conference/. Registration deadline is February 12, 2011.

Beginning in May 2012, the new AP French Language and Culture Exam will follow the new format. Although the length and the use of multiple choice and free response questions will remain, the new examination will assess student proficiency in the three modes of communication described in the Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century, and print and audio materials in the exam will be more linguistically and culturally diverse.

Should you want to see what this examination will demand in terms of teacher and student preparation, please go the following College Board website:http://advancesinap.collegeboard.org/world-languages/french
