As one of the most distinguished voices in R&B music, Charlie Wilson needs no introduction. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native and former lead singer of the funkadelic brotherly trio, the GAP Band, is now going two for two with his second solo album on Jive Records, entitled UNCLE CHARLIE. Wilson’s hit single “There Goes My Baby,” from the new CD, UNCLE CHARLIE spent 10 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Adult R&B Chart. The hauntingly beautiful song was written by multiple Grammy winner Babyface and Calvin Richardson, and produced by Gregg Pagani. Wilson’s new concert production for 2010 has proved to be quite a performance, described as a “Las Vegas Show” with high energy, beautiful dancers, lively band, colorful costumes and wardrobe changes. While watching Wilson bust a move with his dancers it is amazing that his vocal vitality remains throughout the entire concert.
A creative integration of music, vocals and poetic ideas. These Pittsburgh vocalists / rap artists, consisting of four lifelong friends, are blending harmonies and hip-hop into a unique mix of R&B. "Music is an art form," says the group. "We are still growing and developing...branching out the more we work together." If it is a ballad you want...they can sing it. If it is straight hip-hop you seek...they can kick it. And if you can't seem to make up your mind...they can integrate it all together to create something truly unique!
