1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

HE IS WITH YOU ALWAYS

Jesus once told His disciples, "I am with you always." Even after He had ascended into heaven, disappearing from their sight, they knew He was not really gone from them. He was still with them every step of the way.

This past week in our devotions, we have considered the work of the Holy Spirit. He has called us by the gospel, enlightened us with His gifts, sanctified us, and kept us in the true faith. Each item so important. What precious things He does for us and gives to us!

Would we want such a true and gracious Friend to be gone from our side even for a minute? Would we want Him to stop enlightening us? Stop bringing us the word of God? Stop strengthening our faith? No, we would wish that He would stay with us always, just as our Lord Jesus promised to be with us always.

Praise be to the Spirit that He does this very thing! The Apostle Paul wrote "Don't you know . . . that God's Spirit lives in you?" And that same truth is echoed numerous other times throughout the Scriptures. He lives in you to enlighten, sanctify, and keep you daily.

Tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday, the Spirit's own festival day. Go then and glorify His holy name!
