Hello, Firstname

Wednesday 10 March
Next week we welcome Gareth Martin who will be giving his talk "All in the Making", of which he says:

This is about showing the original image and hopefully take it to another leval, this might be just a two pic sequence or up to eleven images showing my methods thought process insprition and so on. I share locations, nothing is held back no secrets. Some of the images are award winners, lots are salon acceptances and some failures. I've included a few images for your members to digest.

Of the 4 pics below, all are WPF Salon exhibition prints one of them was a HC and won best landscape in the Barrian Cup.

If you visit the PAGB website look for E News edition 257 page 8, I have images and a 300 word story in it - follow this link.

You can see some of Gareth's mono work here: www.cymrumonochrome.com

DI Group - Monday 8 March
I had many complimentary emails last month after the DI meeting because of a variety of presentations and lots of useful information given by the presenters at that meeting. Next Monday it is again time for the monthly Digital Group meeting when I am hoping you will have equally interesting presentations. I already have some from Jim Marsden whose images I could not fit in last month and I am hoping to deconstruct one of mine to show one or two simple techniques in creative imaging I learned in creating them.

In the last newsletter you will have read about Bob Faris who sadly passed away last Sunday. He was a truly creative person and to encourage others he has donated a Trophy to be awarded to the winner of yearly Creative competition coming up in July (closing date 16 June this year). DI meeting is an ideal place to share your thoughts informally. Your successful images with thoughts and techniques behind them and equally failures too, if you wish to explore them further would be welcome in your presentation. If you would like to just show off your work or invite comments on your images for other upcoming competitions or otherwise please send them to me for presentation on Monday. I look forward to seeing them.

Please send your images to me by Sunday 7 March, 6 pm.  Images: JPG format, sRGB, 1600 x 1200 pixels (same as competitions but not strict), prefix filenames with 01, 02, 03 etc. if you wish to show them in that order. Email attachment size - max 20Mb per email.

Look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Ashwin Chauhan, Digital Imaging Group

PS. After last Wednesdays’ stimulating talk on their creative photography I am thinking of inviting Sharon and Robert Prenton Jones for a further talk or demonstration to the DI group on creative techniques. On Monday I hope to get more feedback from members present on what they would like included in their talk if that can be arranged. Please let me have your thoughts if you can’t attend.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Salon acceptances: BPS photographers are now achieving large numbers of salon acceptances and constraints on time and space mean we can't include them all. So please only advise of awards or other milestones.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

Make Money For BPS Every Time You Shop On Amazon!
Now we're all still in lockdown, the thought of on-line shopping must be looming large in many members' minds. It's worth remembering that if you so wish, each and every one of you can support BPS with every purchase you make on Amazon by using Amazon Smile. Click on the link below – then it’s self-explanatory.
Shopping using Smile is no different to your normal Amazon shopping and costs you nothing, it's just that you need to tell it that you wish to use Smile and then we get some pennies!
