Welcome back to school!  We hope you have enjoyed a great summer break and are ready to start tackling climate change head on with your students. We can’t wait to hear about your creative ideas about how to get young people inspired in your school and we hope to see as many of you as possible at our free residential training in November, March or May!

From your first day exploring the website to contacting MEP’s to join your campaign – we are here to support you. We will soon be uploading lots of handy tips and examples of how to embed this project in your classroom and support your students to take action as well as more visual guides for accessing the website! Check out the attached Getting started on the Website Lesson Plan and dont forget to book your free introductory training!

Big grant give away!
Are you looking to kick start your eco team? create a new challeneg for your STEM club? or get your enterprise students motivated? If the asnwer is yes then why not apply for a small grant to get them started - from application to planning and delivery students can gain great experience in project and budget management!  Apply with your students online here! We can even make a visit to your school to run a workshop to get your students thinking about the issues they want to tackle in thier local community!

Go Global and make links on water and food security, the preservation of forest and oceans or girls and climate change and get up to speed with the next climate summit and Rio+20.  Whether it’s online, offline or via live video link - get young people talking about the issues important to them.

Make the Link travel to Kenya to see young people in action!

The Make the Link Climate exChange team from all 6 countries travelled to Kisumu, Kenya to explore the amazing work of schools and young people – find out more about our adventures, an inspiring greenhouse project, a school with an appetite for IT and a water project with an ingenious way to make water safe

Competition Time: One small step, one giant leap for a green and sustainable future

This November the UK government will be heading to Durban, South Africa to join in the big climate change debate and we need your to help make sure that young people’s voices are counted when it comes to the big decisions!  Find out how to enter your students here!

Recommend a teacher and win £200 worth of resources for your department

Make the link with more schools by recommending fellow teachers.  For each teacher you recommend to us we will enter you into a draw to win £200 worth of education resources of your choice for your department.  All you need to do is send us their name, school and a contact email address !*  Deadline for recomendations is the 30th of October!

*The winning school will need to submit their resource request and resources will be purchased by Plan UK on your behalf!
