Wanneer ik de duizend namen in het kunstwerk onder elkaar plaats nemen ze 22 pagina’s in beslag. In het kunstwerk nemen de katholieken meer ruimte in dan de protestanten, 10373 tekens tegenover 8896 tekens.

When I take the thousand names in the artwork and list them they fill 22 pages. In the artwork the Roman Catholics take more space than the Protestants, 10373 symbols opposite 8896 symbols.

Uitzien naar...
Enige tijd geleden bestelde ik iets net voor 0.00uur. De volgende morgen rond 8.00uur ging de bel en was ik in het bezit van mijn product. ‘Uitzien naar’ was er niet bij.
Het is vandaag 2 december, een maand en een dag na de lancering van het kunstproject. Misschien kijkt u ernaar uit… De eerste exemplaren zullen halverwege deze maand hun bestemming bereiken.

Looking forward to…
Some time ago I ordered something just before midnight. The next morning around 8:00 AM the doorbell rang and was in the possession of my product. There was no ‘looking forward to’ involved. Today it is 2 December, one month and one day after the artwork’s launch. Maybe you are ‘looking forward to…’ The first copies will reach their destination halfway this month.

Techniek
Wanneer ik kunst creëer vraag ik het uiterste van mezelf. Ik teken bijvoorbeeld 109 lijnen op een vlak van 5 bij 5 centimeter met een pigmentpen van 0,03mm. Soms gebruik ik dan een hoofdloep met lamp. Aan de hand van de gemaakte foto van het werk tel ik de getekende lijnen, met het blote oog lukt dat niet.
Het kunstwerk ‘communio sanctorum’ laat ik afdrukken bij een bedrijf. Na een x aantal bestellingen bel ik het bedrijf met de vraag om een hoogst haalbare scherpte. Vervolgens gaan zij ermee aan de slag. Ook van de machine wordt het uiterste gevraagd...

Technics
When I create art I always do my utmost. For example I draw 109 lines on a field of 5 by 5 centimeters with a colour pen of 0,03 MM.
Sometimes I use a magnifying glass with a light attached to my head.
By means of a photo of the artwork I count the lines, because I cannot do it with my naked eye.
I have my artwork ‘communio sanctorum’ printed by a company. After a number of orders I call the company and I ask for the highest definition possible. Subsequently they start working on it. The machine’s resources are also stretched to the limit.
