FEATURING

  • St Ailbe's Wolf Mother
    • This Irish legend of a saint raised by wolves is one of our most requested tales.
  • The Brown Haired Boy (brief excerpt)
    • Here's a preview of what we'll be performing this summer. It's a traditional Irish wonder tale of a headstrong lad, a dream crone, some magical objects, a wicked king, his beautiful daughter, and an unusual nose.
  • Little Redcap
    • Solo performance of an Irish three-brothers tale. Tim had to go on a quest to obtain it, back in the early 80s. He hasn't performed it for at least 15 years ago. It should be interesting to hear how it's changed during its long simmer.
  • Tne Irish Jubilee
    • We collected this traditional comic double-talk recitation, from Patrick Naughton, our friend Andy's father.
  • Irish Music, of course
  • Irish Step Dancers
Help us welcome our first guest artists, two young local girls, accompanied by young local musicians.
  • A bit of magic, if time permits
  • Warm brownies, coffee & milk at intermission

Admission$10 Adults / $5 Children
We are trying to keep the cost in line with seeing a movie:

Capacity- 50 seats
The room seats fifty. It may or may not fill up-- who knows?

Reservations Encouraged
You can absolutely show up and take your chances. There was room last time. OR-- if let us know you're coming we'll save you a seat. That would help our peace of mind, and yours too perhaps.

This is our second Pocket Chatauqua. The first, held on Valentine's Day, was comfortably full despite truly horrible weather.

A good time was had by all, but some folks wanted more stories than an hour and a half seemed to allow. So we've moved the start time back to 7:00 pm, for a two hour show, with intermission. (If that seems like it might be too long, don't worry, you can always leave early without hurting our feelings at all.)

For our first show, we used rock solid material that we've performed many times over the years, including quite recently.

For this time, along with one old favorite, we're doing things you have never heard.

Volunteers are welcome before and after the show. Contact us, or just show up ahead of time, or stick around afterwards.

Future Pocket Chatauquas are scheduled for April, May, August, September, and October. Guest artists booked so far include Rose and Justin from Vermont Vaudeville, and the very accomplished French-Canadian storyteller, Michael Parent, from Maine.

We're still figuring all this out. Expect to be surprised. We already are!

If you'd like to know where else we're performing, and you haven't already done so, the roster is on our website, or why not subscribe to our newsletter? A new issue, with plenty of uncommercial content, comes out in a couple of weeks.

Hoping to hear from you,
as always,
Tim and Leanne.
