Hello & Welcome!
Even as you read this, we're headed home from  AQS Quiltweek in Paducah, KY. We not only had a great show but as usual, a fun week in Paducah! We met up with a lot of old friends and made some new ones too! And I must say, if you've never taken part in AQS Paducah, it really should be on the bucket list of every sewing enthusiast! I highly recommend the show AND the town of Paducah itself!
But for now I better stay alert & keep my eyes on the road while you get started reading!

"Eye Candy" for April 2023
It’s time for your monthly treat for the eyes & this month's selection of bags is truly amazing.
ALL of the bags pictured below have been shared recently on

(For LARGER images: Click on each individual pic)

Nina Snyder sent us this picture of her fun Sling Along which she fashioned in "Jellyfish Zuma" by Tula Pink! She loves it & so do I!

This is Marcia Henderson's 1st Flaptastic. She crafted it entirely in Kaffe Fassett leftovers!
Marcia said she learned a lot and she's very happy with how it turned out!

And if you're thinking that this Sling Along is sporting fabric from a Laurel Burch collection, you're RIGHT but I especially love that Ellen Fontaine used a pretty blue paisley batik as contrast!

Jeanette Jay made this Sling Along for her son's birthday in "80's punk fabric". He carries his Mac to & from work everyday so she expertly enlarged this pattern to accommodate his laptop! GREAT job Jeanettte!

I first saw this Katalina on Instagram with the Electric Needle Girls(of Australia) who tagged me in a post and along these lines...this bag has a definite "electric look", no?

Sue Helling made this ErgoMatic for an upcoming trip &
she's really happy with how it turned out. No surprise there! She hit her Tula Pink stash for some "drippy roses" leftovers to create this look!

Jo Fowler created this Go-Go Compact especially for her cousin who is a big-time Oregon Ducks fan! I can only imagine that her cousin creates quite a stir at the games when she's sporting this little bag! :)

Nancy Rosa created this Elsie K Baglet for a client who personally chose the exterior and contrast fabric! (Isn't it dreamy?) The black w/gold zipper teeth seems to tie the whole look together?

Charlene Samanich is the very first person to submit pictures of a Double Take. She says she's looking forward to taking this beauty with her on an upcoming trip to Alaska since she thinks it'll be the perfect travel companion! :)

And not to be outdone, Cathy Prwivo sent us this picture just a couple days after Charlene (at left). I love the rich colorations of this Double Take and the gold metallic in the zippers is the icing on the cake! Great job Cathy!

Video of the Month- The "King of Kaszubska Street"

A fat black and white cat has become a major tourist attraction in the Polish city of Szczecin.
Gacek, a free-roaming feline who lives in a box on Kaszubska Street in Poland’s seventh largest city, has captured the attention of cat enthusiasts around the world.
The rotund animal had a five-star rating on Google Maps, clocking up more than 2,500 reviews, according to local reports, before it was removed. {Click HERE to read more} Or follow Gacek on Instagram!

Learning a craft can change lives – & a scheme showing inmates how to use a needle and thread has had some remarkable results. When Fine Cell Work (FCW) was created in 1997 by Lady Anne Tree, her idea of patronage through embroidery seemed quaint to some, perhaps even lightweight in its ethos. What could needlework possibly offer prisoners in their darkest hour? How could stitching and sewing clear a path towards recovery & rehabilitation upon their release? Over the past 25 years, this charity has shown just how powerful a French knot can be. {Click HERE to read more.}
